Spring Time Not Sunny Times
Well the spring is almost over and all I can say is good riddance. Rain and more rain, nothing sucks worse than day after day of rain. With only a few days left to this wet bleak spring one can only hope that the summer brings plenty of sunshine. Wanting more sun seems selfish but being neither a farmer nor a horticulturist, I have no need or desire for dark wet and gloomy days. Has it always been like this, did we just pretend growing up that it was always sunny and warm. It seems like things were always bigger and better growing up, maybe it's the time and distance from the "Old Days" that makes us all feel like it was always bigger and better in the old days. I remember growing up walking to school and having snow banks over my head (of course I was only about three feet tall) it never dawned on me that I was just shorter then. It just seemed like the world was bigger and brighter. I remember spending entire summers out doors never once going in over the course of the day to escape the rain. But it had to of rained, we had the tail end of a hurricane blow through town and it flooded the streets. People were in rowboats going down the street due to the flooding. But even then it was sunny afterwards, the power was out all over town and we went to M & J's Market to get free Ice Cream that was melting. Man we ate it till we were sick. It would be nice to believe that things were always sunny back then, it makes crappy springs like this one seem like an anomaly rather than the norm. So I say hurry up summer I'm sick of all the rain. Besides it's Drive-In Time and there's nothing worse than sitting through THE movie of the summer while it's pouring outside.
